Management, Labour, Agree to Work
Together to Improve Collection.

The Management of the Company and
the leadership of the two in-house Labour Unions; Senior Staff Association of
Electricity and Allied Companies, SSAEAC and the Nigerian Union of Electricity
Employees, NUEE have resolved to work together to improve the financial
standing of the Company.
This was part of the resolutions
adopted after a marathon Management/Unions meeting
held at the Head Office on
Wednesday, 6th November, 2019.
In his contribution, the Chief Marketing and Revenue Assurance Officer,
Abubakar Jimeta, called on all staff to collectively work towards improving the
fortunes of the Company through improved collection, stressing that the Company
is currently in dire financial situation which make impossible for the Company
to meet its obligations to both the staff and the electricity market.
According to him, “our monthly obligation, including our salary is
N1.9billion and the way we are moving is not on the safer side, there is no time to rest, we must have a zeal and
determination to attain a monthly collection of 3 to 3.5 billion naira, if we
are to survive as Company”.
He assured the entire staff the
readiness of the Management to provide the needed support and guidance for
every staff to perform at optimum capacity.
In his remarks, Comrade Nasiru Dembo, Deputy President North, who expressed
SSEAC’s strong reservation to some of the decisions taken by the Management
lately, admonished the staff to work hard to get the Company out of the stormy
water it found itself.
“I realised that most of the employees are not happy and didn’t appreciate
what they have, we must appreciate that we are healthy and even have a job
while our mates are out there admiring and begging us to help them, always look
down and have passion on what you do, nobody have control of your happiness
even if your salary is increased to 1m, if don’t want to be happy you
can’t be”, he said.
He urged employees to have passion in their job while on the Management to
take the workforce into confidence.
The Deputy President General, North, Nigerian Union of Electricity
Employees, Comrade Ali Sikamta Charged the Management to build harmonious
relationship with the workforce for greater productivity. He reiterated the
commitment of the labour movements to work in unison with the Management to
bring the much-needed improvement in collection.
The two parties unanimously agreed
that each and every member of staff must take ownership of the business and developed higher sense of loyalty
to the Company. It was also agreed that the engagement should be sustained.
Staff Bag Awards of Excellence

Staff who demonstrated high level of
dedication and commitment to their respective duties in the course of the year
have been presented with the ‘Shining Star of the Months’ awards.
The awards ceremony which kicked off at
the Head Office on November 5th, 2019 and shall go round all the
Area Offices.
In his opening remarks the Chief
Marketing and Revenue Assurance Officer, Abubakar Jimeta explained the
rationale behind the ceremony, which he said is to reward those who
distinguished themselves despite the situation. He congratulated the awardees
while urging others not to be left behind.
The Head, OD&D Unit, Mrs Adeola
Akanni described the event as a morale booster for all and an excitable way to
wind up the year. She therefore called on every staff to work even harder to
take the Company to greater height.
“In our assessment, the Reward and
Recognition ceremony has improved staff morale, engendered healthy competition
and brought improved productivity”, she said.
At the end of the event, Mrs. Akanni
called on all staff not to be demoralized but rather they should improve on
their performance in order to earn the badge of honor.
Shining Stars Awardees Applaud Management

Awardees of the recently concluded
Reward and Recognition Award applauded the Management for recognizing their
performance by awarding them with Certificates of Honor and Shining Star of the
Month.
The awardees, also called on the
Company to keep the good work by recognizing the contributions of the staff who
helped the Company achieve its goals. They also say this will go a long
way in motivating all staff to put in their best in seeing the Company’s
progress.
They also called on Management to
make Reward and Recognition award to be continuous process by honoring the best
performing staff. “The growth and success of any organization depend on having
capable team members, this cannot be achieved without motivation”, one of the
Award recipients said.
The awardees were selected from each
Department. Information and Communication Technology Department, (ICT) came
overall best with Eight Awards form the Department followed by Admin and
Security with Seven Awards.
Maryam Ibrahim Hamisu is the overall
best award receiver form ICT Department with three awards, one Certificate of
Honor and two Shining Star. “I feel honored, my hours of hard work and trying
new ideas is being recognized”, she said.
The Managing Director/CEO’s Driver,
Mal Aminu Hassan “said Kaduna Electric did well in not only recognizing the
white-collar staff but also to them the drivers”. He thanked Kaduna Electric’s
Management at whole and also pray for the progress of the Company and Nigeria
at large.
New Staff Receive Computer Training for Greater Productivity

The Organizational Development and Design Unit in conjunction
with the ICT Department has organized a
four-day in-house training program for the newly hired employees to improve
their knowledge of computer and acquaint them with the processes’
applications being used in the Company to enhance their productivity.
The training was held at Kaduna
Electric Head of Office last week October 24th 2019.
Declaring the training program open,
the Head ICT, Yasir Abdulsalam stated that “the exercise is aimed at further
building the capacity of employees by equipping them with the knowledge of
computer to help them fit in the new digital process flow recently introduced
by the Company for greater productivity and efficiency”.
He charged the participants to use
the knowledge and skills acquired during the training. “You should pay
attention to what is going to be discussed, feel free to share your opinion,
let others benefit from your good ideas”, he said.
The training programme covered topics such as excel among
others.
This is a good deliberation between the management and the in-house two sister unions SSAEAC and NUEE.The meeting was cordial and with the mind of improving the image of both the management and the entire staff. Aluta continue
