Kaduna Electric Donates Food Items, Medical Supplies to Orphanage

In an exceptional display of the positive side of humanity, Kaduna Electric donated food items and medical supplies to Faith Works Orphanage and Save Young Talent Foundation in Barnawa High Cost, Kaduna.

The exercise which took place yesterday 30th August, 2022 at the orphanage was led by the Head Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi.

A statement by Head, Corporate Communication of the Company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi described the gesture as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility outreach to identify and provide support  to the less privilege who largely depend on the society for assistance.

 “Kaduna Electric has been supporting communities within it franchise in the areas of education, sports, health, relief materials and emergency supplies”, he said.

The founder of the Faith Works Orphanage and Save Young Talent Foundation, Mr. Tosin Joseph Adesina commended Kaduna Electric for the act of charity, describing the gesture as timely and much needed. He thanked the Management of Kaduna Electric for their kind heartedness.

“These items will go a long way in putting a smiles  on the orphans in this critical time, I will also ensure that our community fulfilled its responsibility by paying electricity bills as at when due”, he said


Kaduna Electric Mourns Hosea Peter.

The Management of Kaduna Electric announces the passing of our colleague, Hosea Peter.

Hosea who passed away in hospital in Sokoto after sustaining injuries from a motor accident was the Service Center Manager of Water Works Feeder under Sokoto Central Area Office.

In a condolence message to colleagues and family of the deceased, the Managing Director,  Engr. Yusuf Usman Yahaya,  said the demise of Hodea came as a great shock adding that the late SCM will be sorely missed.

He praised late Hosea dedication and commitment to duty which saw him accept to be transferred from his base in Kaduna to Sokoto.

Announcing the burial arrangements for the late Hosea, the family said a Wake Keep Service in honor of the deceased shall come up on 1st September 2022

at St. Simon Catholic Church, Maraban Rido, Kaduna by 4pm prompt.

The Burial, the family said, shall take place

on Friday, 2nd September 2022 in his home town located at Walijo Magadiram, Kachia Local Government Kaduna.

The corpse is expected to leave St. Gerards Hospital by 7am, Friday, 2nd September 2022.


Kaduna Electric's Spokesperson Bags NIPR Fellowship.

The Head of Corporate Communication of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, Mal. Abdulazeez Abdullahi has been conferred with Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) fellow.

The investiture took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja which had in attendance members of the institute and people from fields of endeavors.

He pledged to do what is expected of him as a fellow.

"I'm elated, being a Fellow is the highest grade in the institute, before you get to this stage, if you are going through the regular course, it takes you like 10 years from member to become a Fellow". We thank the council for thinking it wise to come up with the special upgrade which we took advantage of. And now we are Fellows. He added.

Fellowship of the institute is the highest level of professional recognition by the institute.

Abdulazeez Abdullahi has numerous years of experience in the practice of Public Relations.


Emir of Bakura Pledges to Support Kaduna Electric on Customers' Enlightenment

The Emir of Bakura, HRH Alhaji Bello Sani promised to work with kaduna Electric in order to  sensitize the community on issues concerning the power Company.

The Emir made this submission when the Management of Kaduna Electric paid a courtesy visit to his palace recently in Bakura.

The Royal Father stressed that it is only through enlightenment and sensitization that the people will understand what their obligations are which make it easy for the Company to achieve its goals.

The Monarch promised to work with Kaduna Electric as that is the only way to deliver qualitative and efficient power supply to the State.

In his remarks earlier, the Area Manager of Zamfara South Area Office, Mallam Abubakar Sani solicited the support of the Emirate Council to come up with a holistic approach that will sensitize and educate the general public on the activities of Kaduna Electric.

This he said if done, will enable the two parties achieve their targeted objectives.

“We regard our Royal Fathers as people with the core channels for disseminating effective information to their community and we ideally want people to become aware and react to certain issues promptly” he stated.

On the issue of power supply to the Community, the Manager said “Your right to steady power supply is our concern. We are  ready to upgrade you  from Band E to Band A level. However, all these will not be done without helping the organization achieve its  business objectives which is a core factor for the business to thrive.

He noted that it is pertinent for the two parties  to work together.

Detecting Customers Involved in Energy Theft Will Help in Generating More Revenue – Hadiza Kabir

CcD: Can we have your brief profile?     

HK: I am Hadiza Kabir, a Sales Representative with Kaduna Electric. 

CCD: What does your job roll entails?


HK: Generating Revenue (Laughs). As an S.R, I am CEO/MD of my Cluster. I am expected to enumerate all customers on my Cluster as handed over to me by my SCM to foresee all happenings in the assigned cluster and to gather all customers information, data and to constantly update their information for us to be up to date.  As you are well aware, a cluster is made up of a number of transformers assigned to a sales Representative.

CCD: What is your total customer population and their classification?

HK: I have 482 customer which includes prepaid and postpaid customers and some are maximum demand (MD) customers. 

CCD: What would you consider as your major achievement since you assumed duty?

HK: I will say I was able to detect customer involve in energy theft by checking their vending history and or physical inspection of the meters and made some alignment on some displaced meters. (Meters with different DT’s) as this in turn will generate more revenue to the Company. 

CCD: Do you have any strategy you use in ensuring you reach your monthly target? 

HK: Yes! BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement) I Segregate my customers and relate with them according to their peculiarities, for example, if they are salary earners, business persons, pensioners and what have you. In order to achieve my goals, I engage them on different terms and time so that at the end of the day, it's a Win- Win Situation. 

CCD: What do you consider as the most challenging part of being a Sales Reps?  

HK: There are a lot of hindrances that definitely Slows progress, I will mention a few.

1.issues of identity card: some location you try visiting will deny you access to their premises which in turn slows you Job

2.limited lines men/Technical Staff. We also often encounter hostilities from some customers/communities.

CCD: What do you do at your leisure time?                                   

HK: Read, Watch Movie, any Meaningful Discussions. 

CCD: How do you sensitize your customers?

HK: I try to put myself in my customers shoes to understand them. 

CCD: Any appeal or suggestion to staff or management?

HK: I will recommend adequate lines men be provided, additional security measures, provisions of identity to new Staff and re-issuance to old staff that theirs has expired.
