QXK Engineering Services Ltd Staff Undergo Training on Customers’ Relationship

The QXK Engineering Services Ltd Staff working in Sokoto Region underwent a-day training on prepaid meter monitoring, field expectations, customers’ relationship, components of PPM meters, types/brand and other sundry issues relating energy theft and or meter bypass.

The training feature 11 participants of QXK Engineering Ltd staff with background on Electrical Engineering.

The aim of the training according to the Team Lead, Metering, Sokoto Regional office, Mr Suleiman Mukhtar Mohammed, is for the participants to know how to detect if meter is being bypassed both internally and externally, components of PPM Meter, etc.

Mr. Mukhtar advised the participants to be attentive and maximise the opportunity offered by the training and enhance their productivity, adding that the training is timely as more meters are expected to be deployed to Sokoto soon.

He stressed that essence of the training is to bring about improvement and fish out meter bypasses, energy theft as well as overall improvement in service delivery.

Participants were also exposed to practical training during the one day programme.

 

Zamfara/Zaria Regional Operation Coordinator Urges Staff to Be Diligent.

The Regional Operation Coordinator for Zamfara and Zaria, Engineer Umar Sani Argugu has urged the staff in Service Centres to be morally upright and display truthfulness and accuracy in carrying out their responsibilities.


The Regional Coordinator made the charge recently while participating in an interactive meeting with the Service Centre Managers and management staff of the three area Offices in Zaria, Sabongari, Samaru and Zaria City. 

 

He stressed that the activities of the Company will not be business as usual and all staff must immediately adopt to the changes in the organization. 

 

He also noted that, if the staff are able to change their attitudes, the organization will record unprecedented development within a very short period of time. 

Engineer Argungu further called on the Area Managers to always work in synergy which he said is the core value of the organization and if done, will create enabling environment for the staff and will in turn shoot the organization to success. 

 

"This will help provide enabling environment where staff will learn from each other, take responsibility, accept mistakes and take correction. The interest of the organization first rather than our personal interests," he stated.   

On Staff-Customers relationship, the Operations Manager stressed on good public relations and efficient service delivery to customers, also noted that, customers are the backbone of every business organization, therefore the Company will put every possible effort to make sure cordial relationship is maintained between staff of the organization and customers.  

"We should take this year as a year of zero tolerance to negative attitudes or anti customers’ conducts because all Company's money will be accurately accounted for and any form of illegality will be dealt with accordingly", he said. 

The Area Managers of Sabon Gari, Basil Chiwe Ujam; Samaru, Jeremiah Okoh and Zaria City, Kabiru Abdulsalam all called on staff to make it a duty upon themselves to deliver on their responsibilities diligently. They said staff of the organization should put passion in the business in order to ensure efficiency and good service delivery to customers which was said to be one of the cardinal objectives and core values of the organization.

They further called on the Management staff at Area Offices and Service Centre Managers to give their maximum cooperation for the attainment of the Company’s overall objective.

"It is important that we should know that the Management must be part of cash collection exercise because it is paramount, every staff is expected to give his vital contribution and work as a team for the survival of this organization. We also realise that the Area Offices Management’s supports enforces the Service Centers’ work. We have seen changes and, we will continue to enforce what is good to us for a better revenue generation”, they asserted.

 

Kaduna Electric Set to Meter MD Abubakar Estate in Kaduna

Kaduna Electric is set to meter all houses in the MD Abubakar Estate at Baban Saura, a suburb of Kaduna. The decision was reached last week at a meeting with the representatives of the community at the Head Office in Kaduna.

According to the Head of Operations of Kaduna Electric, Engr Aliyu Abbas Abdullahi who chaired the meeting, pre-paid meters shall be installed in the Estate end to end starting from next week.

“The Company shall meter the entire estate starting from next week which will bring an end to the dispute between the company and customers and put to rest complaints overbilling made by the community”, he said.

Part of the things discussed at the meeting is about certain number of occupants of the Estate that had been enjoying power supply for longer period without paying for the services rendered by the Company.

Earlier, the Chairman Electricity Committee of MD Abubakar Estate, Mallam Usman Abdullahi appealed to Kaduna Electric to look into overbilling of customers in the Estate and also request for metering of Estate.

 

Kebbi North Area Manager Charges Management Staff to be More Committed

The Area Manager, Kebbi North Area Office, Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Mohammed has charged the Management Team to exhibit high sense of responsibility and commitment to the achievement of the overall objectives of the Company.

The Area Manager made the charge during a meeting with Area Office’s Management at the Area Office complex in Birnin Kebbi recently.

Mr. Abdul-Rasheed also appreciated the contributions and the support of the Management staff and all staff of the Area Office towards attaining the remarkable collection in the month of December 2020.

“The Management team of the Area Office has done wonderfully well in making sure the Kebbi North Area Office collection superseded the previous month and that showed, yes we can even do far beyond that”, he said.

He noted that there is still a huge task ahead, looking at the billing and the energy consumed in the Area Office and called on the management team to be more committed and sustain the tempo.

Mr. Abdul-Rasheed however stated that “for us whom God Almighty has chosen to lead the Area Office, we must lead by example and make sure all laid down policies of the Company are respected so that our subordinates will emulate from us”.
