HoUs, AMs, Team Leads Undergo Leadership Development Training

As part of the leadership development strategy and capacity building of the Management, some middle level Managers and Officers of the company recently undergo leadership development training at the Industrial Training Fund, ITF in Kaduna.

The objective of the training is to enhance leadership and team development skills of the officers who are expected to drive their various teams to greater productivity and improved performance.

In his opening presentation tittled “Leadership Development”, the Area Manager, Industrial Training Fund, Kaduna Area Office, Mr. Yahaya Manu, described leadership as “the ability to influence perceptions, attitudes, motivation and behaviors of others for a purpose”.

Quoting a renowned management expert, Peter Drucker, Alh Manu said “only 3 things happens naturally in organizations: friction, confusion and under performance. Everything else requires leadership”.

He therefore charged the officers to live up to the expectations of the Management by providing direction to, and effectively communicate the vision of the Company, coach and mentor their team members as well as leading them to greater success.

The 3day workshop had in attendance some Head of Units, Area Managers and Team Leads drawn from some various departments who in turn are expected to share the knowledge and skills acquired with their respective teams.

The training is expected to equip the participants with the necessary leadership skills to propel them for effective team management and motivation of their team members.

 

NATIONAL MASS METERING:

Kaduna Electric Assures Of Deployment Of Pre-Paid Meters As More Meter Asset Providers Key Into The Programme

Eight months after the commencement of the National Mass Metering Program, the management of Kaduna Electric has assured customers of the company in Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states that the meters deployment programme is progressing according to plan.

The Head, Energy Metering Department of the company Engr. Muhammed Aliyu Gana gave the assurance during a live audience participation program, Kaduna Electric Live on Facebook.

According to him, the scheme has fully taken off and more meter asset providers working with the company have keyed into the exercise.

The meter asset providers are Holley metering, Mojec International, Integrated Power Limited, Crest Hill, Smart and Turbo.

Engr. Aliyu Gana cautioned customers of the company against looping and tampering with their meters, stressing that a severe penalty awaits anybody that willfully damage the energy meter installed in their premises.

He further appealed to customers of the company, especially those yet to be metered to be patient as the meter deployment program of the company is steadily moving as planned.

 

Chattered Institute Of Personnel Management Partners Kaduna Electric

The Chattered Institute of Personnel Management has pledged its commitment to partner with Kaduna Electric on staff development and capacity building.

The pledge was made by the chairman of the institute, Mr Sulaiman Gidado when the institute team visited Kaduna Electric last week.

Mr. Sulaiman Gidado stated that the institute is a fountain of knowledge, especially as it concern personnel management and development and the staff of Human Resources Unit of Kaduna Electric stand to benefit a lot from the institute.

He charged the HR staff of the company to take advantage of the resources available in the institute to improve their professional capacity by registering as members of Chattered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.

Earlier in her welcome address, the HoU Organisational Design & Development unit Mrs Adeola Akanni called on her colleagues who are yet to register to do so immediately as this will afford them the opportunity to acquire new skills and improve their professional competency in Human Resources Management.
